She was the wife of the late Norman M. Cronise. Mrs. Cronise was born April 5, 1884, in Owensboro, Ky., a daughter of the late Charles A. and Frances Ellis Payne. Mrs. Cronise studied art at Columbia University, New York City. She taught at McClean College, Hopkinsville, Ky. and, for a number of years, was head of the art department of Ownesboro High School. Mrs. Cronise was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Frederick. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Henry T. Eiglesbach, Frederick, and Sister Mildred Ann Payne MM, Guatemala, Central America; and one nephew, Dr. Charles A. Payne, San Juan, Puerto Rico. There will be no viewing or visiting at the funeral home. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb 17, at the home of Mrs. Cornise’s [sic] niece, Betty Eiglesbach, 13 W. 13th St., Frederick. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. The family suggest that flowers be omitted and those desiring may make donations in memory of Mrs. Mildred Cronise to the Frederick Cancer Society, 22 S. Market St., Frederick 21701. Salamone Funeral home, 608 E. Patrick St., Frederick, is in charge of arrangements.
