A. Fox, the popular restauranter, died at his residence on South Market street this morning at about 6:15 o’clock, of an affection of the heart. He was about 31 years of age. His first connection with a restaurant was as clerk under Charles E. Haller at the “Gem Restaurant” in 1871, where the new addition of the City Hotel now stands. He went with Mr. Haller from there to the corner of Market and Church streets, and afterwards to the bridge as a partner. Henry Dertzbaugh bought out his interest in the firm, and Mr. Fox with Washington Marmon started the firm of Marmon & Fox, on South Market street, where he has been conducting business up to his death. The deceased was a member of the Independent Fire Company. He leaves a wife but no children. The funeral will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery tomorrow at 3 o’clock.
