Garner Jere J. Garner, 79 year old resident of Taneytown, died Monday afternoon in Frederick Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient about 4 weeks. Son of the late William and Margaret Frock Garner, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Isabel Garner, Linwood, and a grandson, Capt. Frank J. Wachter, now stationed in Germany. Friends may call at the Fuss funeral home, Taneytown, today between 8 and 9 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. Glenn L. Stahl, assisted by Rev. W. V. Garrett. Interment will be in the Lutheran church cemetery, Taneytown. Mr. Garner was twice married. Following the death of his first wife, Minnie R. Garner, he married Miss Phoebe Alice Shank who died about a year ago. Since her death he had lived at the home of Mrs. A. G. Riffle, in Taneytown. For many years he lived on his farm near Taneytown. Most of his life was spent in the area. He was a retired employee of the Cambridge Rubber Co., and a member of Trinity Lutheran church.
