Born in Montgomery County, on Jan. 26, 1959, he was a son of Harrison Eugene and Judith Kephart Benson, of Frederick. He had been employed as a mechanic and transmission specialist for several years. Doug recently had a great interest in family geneology and gathered much data on many Maryland families. Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Thomas Eugene Benson and wife Ruth Ann, of New Market and Michael Lee Benson and wife Deborah, of Beallsville, a nephew, Andrew Blate Benson, one step-nephew, James Minks, and two step-nieces, Jamie Lynn Doody and Christina Minks. He will also be remembered by a special friend, Cherie Cush Degnan, of Gaithersburg. Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 6. The Rev. Joel Beth Szachara, assistant rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, officiated. Internment was in the Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va, 23058. *****Sep. 19, 2002***** Albert John Dailey Mr. Albert John Dailey, 80, died on Sept. 15, 2002. Mr. Daily was born Oct. 17, 1921 in Baltimore, Md. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring after 22 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Dailey also retired from Bechtel Power Corp. and was past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council at Sacred Heart Church in Bowie, Md. Mr. Dailey is survived by: his wife, Dorothy E. (Dolan) Dailey; three children, Louisanne (and husband, Berton F.) Toulotte; Albert John (and wife, Linda) Dailey; and Gerard (and wife, Alexis) Dailey; six grandchildren, Jenna, Jonathan, Grace, Arielle, Brady and Brett; lifelong friend, Audrey Baker; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Thomas J. and Pat Dolan, Robert F. and Joyce Dolan, and Effie DeWinter. Funeral services took place at Oak Crest Chapel in Parkville, Md. Wednesday, Sept. 18. Burial took place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.
