Houghton Ollie E. (Morris) Houghton, 95 of Plainville, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 at her home in Plainville. She was the wife of the late Harold Houghton. Born in McGaheysville, Va. on Dec. 10, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Al and Ollie Morris. Mrs. Houghton was a resident of Woodbine for many years until moving to Plainville five years ago. She was a seamstress in the Baltimore area for many years. Mrs. Houghton was an avid gardener and an antique collector. She also loved to play cards. She is survived by a niece, Eleanor "Ellie" Wilfert and her husband, Joseph, with whom she resided in Plainville. She is also survived by many additional nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon, Friday, Jan. 2 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon on Friday at the funeral home. Bessie M. Howes Mrs. Bessie M. Howes, 83, of Mount Airy, formerly of Spencerville, died on Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Northampton Manor Care in Frederick. Born Oct. 4, 1920, in Highland, Md., she was a daughter of the late William Roger and Nettie Elizabeth Johnson Knight. She was the wife of the late Leonard Samuel Howes. Mrs. Howes was a Methodist. She had worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Silver Spring as an assembler for about 20 years and retired in 1985. She enjoyed baby-sitting for her family Mrs. Howes is survived by a daughter, Alice Hancock and her husband Charles Sr. of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Lori Curbow of Mount Airy, Jeffrey Curbow of Woodbine and Amy Hanks and her husband David of Westminster; a step- grandson, Charles Hancock Jr. and wife Heather of Pennsylvania; a sister, Mary Thompson of Silver Spring and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, William and George Knight. Funeral services were held Dec. 27 at the Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville, with the Rev. Susan Boehl, pastor of Prospect United Methodist Church in Mount Airy, officiating. Kenzie Mrs. Marjorie A. Kenzie, 88 of Mt. Airy, formerly of Jackson, Miss., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at the home of her daughter, Lu Ann Beavers. She was the wife of the late Bernard F. Kenzie who passed away in 1990. She was a retired payroll supervisor with the Southern Michigan State Prison. She enjoyed knitting and hand work. In addition to her daughter she is survived by two sons: David A. and wife Mary Kenzie of McCormick, S.C.; and Jack L. and wife Mary Ann Kenzie of Grass Lake, Mich. She is also survived by grandchildren Susan, Lisa, Jason, Daniel, Michael, Monica, Theresa, Kathy, Kim, Maggie and Jenny, as well as 15 great- grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by son Larry G. Kenzie. A memorial dinner was held Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 at the home of Lu Ann Beavers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements were made by Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., Winfield. Fridrick S. Piotrowski Fridrick S. Piotrowski, 79, of Eldersburg, died Monday, Dec 22, 2003, at his home following a brief illness. Born June 26, 1924, in Poland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Michalina Topolska Piotrowski. He was the husband of Alicja Piotrowski of Eldersburg. They had been married for 52 years. He was a veteran of World War II in the Polish Navy. He was trained in San Francisco and then stationed in England. After the war he was a teacher and veterinarian in Poland. He then came to the United States and worked as a foreman for Burrell Belting in Skokie, Ill. until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara A. and Steven Urban and Ann M. and John Vorderbrueggen, all of Marriottsville; grandchildren Nicole and husband Bryan Rauser; Brian and wife Heather Vorderbrueggen; Alex Hafer, Alisa and husband Rick Sobchak and Jackson Bakewell; and great-grandchildren Sydney and Sara Rauser and Hannah and Olivia Sobchak. A memorial mass was held Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Patrick Tonry officiating. Interment will be private. "Mom" Dotson Williams, 92, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at York Hospital, York, Pa. She was born Dec. 18, 1911 in Winfield. She was the daughter of the late John W. Dotson Sr. and the late Mary Louise Gassoway Dotson. She was the wife of the late Marcus Williams. She was a nurse at Springfield State Hospital and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Taylorsville. She was the mother of Minnie Louise Williams of York, Audrey Carter of Chicago, Patsy Spencer of York, Richard Dabbs Sr. of Randallstown, Betty Alexander of York and Pauline Preston of York. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren She was predeceased by son James E. Dotson-McMillan. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Marcus of Fairview U.M. Church officiating. Interment is in Fairview U.M. Church Cemetery. *****Jan. 15, 2004***** Virgil V. Kidwell Virgil V. Kidwell, 60, of Smithsburg, died Jan. 4, 2004, at his residence. He was the husband of Linda Darlene Shrader Kidwell, to whom he was married for 38 years. He was born Aug. 20, 1943, in Rockville, the son of the late Ernest A. and Dolly Rosalie Costello Kidwell. Mr. Kidwell retired after 35 years with the Montgomery County Public Schools' maintenance department. He also restored antique vehicles and machinery. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Virgil Victor Kidwell Jr. and his wife Karen of Smithsburg; two daughters, Joyce Renee Kidwell Flanary of Sabillasville, and Lisa Ann Kidwell and her husband Curtis Davidson of Frederick; four grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma "Dimples" Hungerford. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Clem, and a brother, Elmer Kidwell. Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick handled the arrangements. Burial is Resthaven Memorial Gardens. John W. Wisniewski John W. Wisniewski, 71, of Gaithersburg, died on Dec. 28, 2003, at Shady Grove Hospital, Rockville, after a brief illness. Born Jan. 22, 1932, in Portage, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Agnes (Ease) Wisniewski. He was the husband of Jean (Smith) Wisniewski for 46 years. Mr. Wisniewski attended local schools in Portage and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1954 with a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering and was an AIME scholar in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1954-56. He retired in 1995 as vice president of engineering for the U.S. Export-Import Bank in Washington after 35 years of service in the U.S. government in various capacities within the Internal Revenue Service and Export- Import Bank. He was listed in Who's Who in America several times during his distinguished career and was well respected by his staff and coworkers. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three children, John A. Wisniewski and his wife Anne of Wolfsville, Jean Toomey and her husband John of Germantown, Maria Wilson and her husband Robert of Urbana; one sister, Mary Nesbella of Lilly, Pa.; one brother, Walter Wisniewski of San Antonio, Texas, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Jan. 3, 2004, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Gaithersburg. Interment was in All Souls Cemetery, Germantown. Leubecker Anita Foley Leubecker, 71, of Williamsport, Md., formerly of Sykesville, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the home of her son in Williamsport. She was born on May 10, 1932, in South Carolina, the daughter of the late Lafon and Hortense Herring Owens. She was the wife of the late Werner C. Leubecker. She retired from the engineering department at Maryland Cup. Surviving are sons, John Foley of Lakeland, Flor. and William Foley of Williamsport; daughters, Patricia Lingoski and Deborah Behr, both of Glen Burnie; Karen Embrey of Hagerstown and Dolores Zimmer of Williamsport; one sister, Mary Frances Dole of Memphis, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Jan. 17 at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville. Interment is in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
