G. Harbaugh Dies Suddenly Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon Frank G. Harbaugh, well-known businessman and churchman, died suddenly at 7 o’clock Friday morning, having been stricken with a heart attack at the farm near Crouse’s Mill, Carroll county, which was jointly owned by him and his sister, Miss Carrie Harbaugh, and to which he had gone to see about preparations for threshing operations. Mr. Harbaugh was aged 74 years. A son of the late Samuel and Mary Anders Harbaugh, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amanda Hiehl Harbaugh; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Biddinger and Miss Carrie Harbaugh, Middleburg; one niece Mrs. Rhea Ramsburg, Baltimore, and one nephew, Ray Bollinger, Hyattsville. As a young boy, Mr. Harbaugh entered the employ of E. O. Cash, who operated the Middleburg warehouse and grain elevator. After operating for approximately 20 years, he sold the business to Donald Six, about three years ago. Owned County Farms Mr. Harbaugh was deeply interested in farming and owned, in addition to the farm held jointly with his sister, two farms in Frederick County and two in Carroll County. He was also a prominent building contractor, having erected many homes and a number of larger structures in Maryland and Virginia. Especially active in church activities, Mr. Harbaugh was a life-long member of Haugh’s Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, where he had been superintendent of the Sunday School, a member of the choir, and a member of the church council at various times, serving in that capacity at the time of his death. He was also a member of various committees engaged in the synodical work of the Lutheran Church. Mr. Harbaugh was a director of the Carroll County Mutual Fire Insurance Company and a member of the Masonic fraternity. Schmidt, pastor of the deceased, will officiate. Interment will be mad in the family plot in Woodsboro. Friends may call at the late home after noon today. C. O.
