MRS. BERTHA L. MARKEY
  Mrs. Bertha L. Markey, widow of Willard Markey, died at her home, 302 
Rockwell Terrace at 12:15 o’clock this morning after a short illness.  She was 
aged 56 years, eleven months and three days.  She was stricken with a cerebral 
hemorrhage Saturday afternoon, which caused her death.
  Mrs. Markey was a daughter of the late George H. and Florence V. Zimmerman, 
and widow of Willard Markey, who died in 1916.  For seven years after her 
marriage she lived in Washington, returning to Frederick following the death 
of her husband.  She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, this 
city, and of the Ladies Bible class of the Lutheran Sunday school.
  She is survived by two children, Willard Hanshew Markey, and Nancy Virginia 
Markey, both at home; and the following sisters and brothers, Miss Grace E. 
Zimmerman, at home; William D. Zimmerman and Thomas L. Zimmerman, both of this 
city, and George C. Zimmerman, Philadelphia.
  Funeral services will be held from the late home Friday afternoon at 2 
o’clock.  Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.  Harry E. Carty Company, funeral 
directors.
