Mrs. L. Rebecca Newcomer

  Mrs. Laura Rebecca Newcomer, 84, a former resident of Taneytown, died 
Wednesday at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.  Mrs. Newcomer had 
resided for the last six years with her niece, Mrs. Clarence E. Bachman, 
Westminster.
  She was the daughter of the late Otho Augustus and Elizabeth R. Smith Shank 
and the wife of the late George W. Newcomer.  She is survived by several nieces 
and nephews.
  Mrs. Newcomer was a member of the United Church of Christ, Taneytown.
  Friends may call at the C. O. Fuss and Son Funeral Home, Taneytown, this 
evening.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral 
home.  Rev. William F. Wiley will officiate.  Interment will be in the United 
Church of Christ Cemetery.
