Arrangements for the funeral of Mr. J. Alfred Ritter, whose death was reported in THE NEWS yesterday, 
have not been made, the family not having decided upon the day and hour.  Mr. Ritter was a man of 
unassuming character and popular amongst his friends.  In the family circle he was devoted and 
indulgent to a fault.  In his prosperous days he was generous to all.  At church his place was always 
filled, until affliction laid its hand upon him.  He was genial in his manners and at home the 
embodiment of hospitality.  He was eminently successful in business, and in every public enterprise 
he took an active interest.  As a life long citizen his record has been that of a well spent life, 
and he leaves to his family the memory of a good man.  His death is the second one in the family this 
year, the other being his eldest daughter, who died suddenly a few months ago.
