Mrs. Harriet E. Sawyer
  Mrs. Harriet Elizabeth Sawyer died at her home, East Third street, at seven 
o’clock last evening.  Death came after a few hours’ illness.  Mrs. Sawyer was 
a lady of noble character sweet disposition and a tenderness of heart which 
endeared her to all who came in contact with her.  She was born in Woodsboro, 
this county, in 1836, but moved to Frederick when a child.  Since then, with 
the exception of a few years, her entire life has been spent in this 
community, where she has a large circle of friends, who mourn her sad death.  
Mrs. Sawyer was a member of the Lutheran church, this city.  She is survived 
by three children; Mrs David Kolb and Mrs. Ida Hahn, this city, and Mr. H 
Sawyer, of Vineland, N. J.  The funeral will take place Monday at 2 p.m.  
Services will be held at the house and interment made at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
