James M. Schley The remains of the late Col. Jas. M. Schley, whose death was reported in yesterday’s NEWS, leave Cumberland at 7 o’clock this morning on the B&O railroad, and will arrive here this evening at 1:23. A committee of the Potomac lodge, F. A. M., of Cumberland, accompany the remains. At the depot they will meet by the Masonic lodge of this city, which escort them direct to Mount Olivet cemetery, where the remains will be interred with Masonic honors. Col. Schley was a great grandson of John Thomas Schley, who built the first house in Frederick in 1746. He was a graduate of Princeton College and was a lawyer. He was several time in Legislature, and was for nine years State’s Attorney in Allegany county. He was 68 years old, and leaves a widow.
