Shank Mrs. Sarah Shank, wife of Carlton P. Shank, died very suddenly at her home midway between Middletown and Myersville, about 7 o’clock Wednesday evening, from a heart attack aged 66 years, 5 months and 24 days. Several days prior to her death she stepped on a nail, which penetrated her foot and it was while she was seated on a chair examining the wound that the attack came upon her. She fell from the chair and died within a few minutes. She is survived by her husband and five sons and three daughters; Emer near Middletown; Albert and Russell,, Myersville, Hoy, Washington; Wade in the West; Carrie and Dessie , Washington; and Mary, at home. Three brothers and two sisters also survive – Upton Palmer, Myersville, John, Wolfsville; Uriah, Hagersstown; Mrs. Cyrus Blickenstaff, Wolfsville, and one sister at Thurmont. The funeral took place Saturday morning from the Church of the Brethren, at Myersville, with interment in the Lutheran cemetery. The pallbearers were Michael Hoffman, Lorenza Miller, Geo. D. Toms, F. F. Grossnickle, Charles Bittle and J. Wesley Cline. C. T. K. Gladhill, of Middletown, funeral director.
