Trayer, whose sad and sudden death was published in THE NEWS soon after its occurrence, took place at the M.E. Church, New Market on Wednesday at 3 o’clock p.m. One of the largest gatherings of people in many years was on this occasion. Mr. Trayer was an active and zealous member of his church for 27 years. His age was 47 years, 1 month and 12 days. His death occurred on the road to Monrovia, as he was returning home in his buggy, accompanied by his youngest daughter. To all it was a great shock, but to some to whom he expressed himself lately, it was looked for, as he was a great sufferer of heart disease, which was the immediate cause of death. His wife and three single daughters survive him, to whom much sympathy is extended by a large family connection and many close friends. The pallbearers were in two sets and acted as follows. On leaving the house, George C. Smith, Charles Fox, Mahlon Swormley, Banks Trayer, Harry Deckerbaugh, George Trayer, all nephews of the deceased. From the church to the grave---T.A. Stephens, J.M. Shwbaker, J.P. Molesworth, Wm. T. Wagner, Thomas M. Waltz, J.W. Molesworth. Among the floral contributions was a handsome sheaf of wheat from Mrs. Thos. Trayer, of Williamsport, Pa. Interment was made in New Market cemetery, and L.S. Russell was the funeral director.
