MD] Tuesday, Jan 15, 1884 SUDDEN DEATH The cases of sudden deaths are daily increasing and awakens serious thoughts in the minds of every one. John Baptiste Treich, who fell dead this morning while removing the snow in front of his place of business, on North Market Street, at 7:25 o'clock, was born in Bordeaux, France in September 1813 and is consequently in his 71st year. He came to New York when only sixteen years of age and afterwards removed to this city in May 1861. His occupation was that of a tailor. Dr. Maynard says that it is a difficult matter to attribute his death to disease, but said that it was apoplexy or paralysis of the heart. He leaves a wife and two children, Mrs. Charles Woodward of Philadelphia, and Ferdinand Treich of this place. His remains lay at the residence of Mrs. H. C. Sawyer, on East Third Street, where he and his wife have been boarding. 1860 census Baltimore - Ward 13 John Treich age 45 Tailor 0/$50 b. France Mary age 36 b. VA Ferdinand age 16 b.
