WALTZ DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Was Former Member Of Board Of Election Supervisors; Active In Knights Of Pythias Circles Following an illness of two weeks duration, Isaac Gundy Waltz, former member of the Board of Election Supervisors of Frederick county and a prominent figure in Pythian activities here, died at the Frederick City Hospital Thursday evening at 5 o’clock. He was 74 years of age. He was a lifelong resident of Araby, a son of the late Francis W. and Barbara A. E. Sweigert Waltz, and for many years followed the occupation of painting and paperhanging. He was a member of the Araby Methodist church. He was a staunch Democrat and had for years served as a member of the party’s county central committee. In 1934 he was appointed the minority member of Board of Election Supervisors by former Governor Harry W. Nice, his term expiring in 1938. For man [sic] years he had been one of the most active and interested members of Mountain City Lodge, No. 29, Knights of Pythias, and Mountain City Temple, No. 14, Pythian Sisters. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Roy Cutsail, and a son, Paul C. Waltz, both of this city. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. C. M. Stout, Chambersburg, Pa.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the funeral home, 106 East Church street, from where the funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. M. R.
