Zimmerman After a lingering illness, ex-Sheriff Daniel P. Zimmerman, a well known and respected retired farmer, died at his home at Woodsboro, last night, aged 69 years. The cause of his death was epithelioma. Mr. Zimmerman was operated upon at the City Hospital about three months ago. He has been a great sufferer, but bore his suffering with Christian fortitude and patience. In 1893 Mr. Zimmerman was elected sheriff on the Republican ticket. He was a member of the Lutheran church of Woodsboro for over forty years. He was also a member of the P. O. S. of A. Mr. Zimmerman is survived by a widow, who is his second wife, and the following children by his first marriage; Mrs. James H. Crum, of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Harvey S. Bohn, Mrs. Willie Whitmore, Mrs. J. Willie Eyler, of Woodsboro; Mrs. Charles W. Milder, Mrs. T. Arnold Whitmore, of this city, and Alva O. Zimmerman, of Lewistown. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Rhoderick, of Daysville, and one brother Dr. L. M. Zimmerman, of Hagerstown. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning, meeting at the house at 9 o’clock. Services will be held at the Lutheran church at 10 o’clock and interment will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
