Mrs. Martha A. C. Zimmerman, wife of Mr. Francis M. Zimmerman, 
a farmer living near the Manor Church, a few miles from Jefferson, 
died very suddenly about 9 o’clock on Thursday morning of last 
week, from a stroke of apoplexy.  On the morning of the day 
of her death.  Mrs. Z. appeared in good health.  She prepared 
breakfast and partook of the meal with her family, but about 
half-past 8 o’clock, whilst engaged in her household duties, 
she suffered a stroke of apoplexy, and died within a half
hour.  Mrs. Zimmerman was a very highly esteemed lady.  She was 
a daughter of the late John Coblentz, of P., of this valley, and 
was in her 43d year of her age.  She leaves a husband and four 
children to mourn their irreparable loss, and a large circle of 
deeply smitten relatives and friends.  Her funeral took place
at the Reformed Church in Jefferson on Saturday last, and was 
largely attended.  Rev. N. H. Skyles, her pastor, officiated, 
assisted by Rev. A. J. Heller, of Adamstown.  --- Register
