I, Samuel Cronise of Frederick County in the State of Maryland, do hereby make and publish this as my Last Will and Testament, as follows -- I devise and bequeath to my dear Wife, Mary, & to my son Gideon Cronise, all my personal property of every kind and description, to be equally divided between them, Each one to pay to Each of my three daughters Matilda E., Josephine, and Octavia V. C. Cronise, one hundred and fifty dollars, upon the marriage of each of my said Daughters, or upon their attaining the age of twenty one years, whichever shall first happen, Subject to any advancement I may hereafter make to them or any one of them, to be charged in my book of advancements. -- And until the happening of said contingengy and the payment of said money, my said wife and son shall furnish to my Said daughters a comfortable support. -- I give, devise and bequeath to my son Gideon, in fee simple, all my Real Estate, whereever situated, subject to the payment to my beloved wife, Mary, during her natural life, of one half of the net proceeds, unto or profits thereof, and on the death of my said wife, Subject to the payment to my Daughter Elizabeth A, wife of George A. Winebrenner, within one year after the death of my wife, of the sum of one thousand dollars. To my Daughter Matilda E. within two years after the death of my wife, of the sum of one thousand dollars. To my Daughter Josephine, within three years after the death of my wife, of the sum of one thousand dollars. --and to my Daughter Octavia V. C., within four years after the death of my wife, of the sum of one thousand dollars. --Said sums of one thousand dollars each, to bear interest from the periods they respectively become due, and payable, and it is my will, and I hereby direct that they shall be a chargeron lien upon my Real Estate, so devised as aforesaid, until they are paid, and that said Sums of Money shall be paid to my said Daughters free from and over and above, all advancements by me heretofore made, but subject to and chargable with any and all advancements by me hereafter made, and found charged in my Book of advancements. --It is further my will and desire, that my Son Gideon pay said sums to my said Daughters sooner than the periods above designated, if he shall find it convenient for him to do so, but not otherwise. And lastly I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my Son Simon Cronise and my friend Grayson Eichelberger Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and none other as and for my Last will and Testament. In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix my seal this twentieth day of September A.D. 1858. Koehler, Jacob Sahms Codicil Whereas I, Samuel Cronise of Frederick County have made and duly executed my Last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the twentieth day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty eight, which said Last Will and Testament and every clause, devise, and bequest therein contained, I do hereby ratify and confirm, saving and excepting such clauses, devises, and bequests therein mentioned, as are, by me, hereinafter revoked and made void, and being desirous to alter some parts therein, and of making additions thereto, do therefore hereby make this my Codicil, which I will and direct shall be taken and held as part of my said will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.- - It is my will and desire, and I do hereby direct, that my dear wife Mary, if she shall so desire, shall be authorized to occupy the residence and garden on the farm, or so much thereof as she may desire, for her own use. Item.-- I give and bequeath unto my grandson John Albert Winebrenner, when he arrives at the age of twenty-one years, my Silver watch and the Sum of Two hundred dollars. Item.-- I give and bequeath unto my grandson Samuel Christian Winebrenner, a Scholarship in Dickenson College, to be found among my papers, and I also bequeath to my last named granson the Sum of Two hundred dollars to be paid to him when he attains the age of twenty-one years. It is my further will and desire, that the Legacies herein contained shall be paid by my son Gideon without interest, and shall be a lien on the Real Estate, bequeathed in my said last Will and Testament to my said son Gideon. And it is my further will and I do hereby direct that in the event of the death of my said Grandsons or either of them before attaining the age of twenty-one years without leaving lawful issue of his body surviving him, then the said bequests shall be void and of no effect as to the one so dying. -- In testimony whereof, I hereto set my hand and seal this 20th day of May A.D. 1860.
