These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ Frederick County, Maryland GME#1 Folio 555 9 March 1834 In the name of God Amen, I Laurence Erensperger of Frederick County in the state of Maryland, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my affairs, and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world, where it shall please God to call me home, do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form that is to say. First and principally, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God; and my body to the earth, to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor herein after named; and after my debts and funeral charges are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows. I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth during her natural life time, the house and lot number five, whereon I now reside in the town, of Sabillasville, and after her death, the house and lot share desired to my son William, and to his heirs and assigns forever;~ I also give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth my stove and pipe. Item. I devise and bequeath to my son William the two lots in Sabillasville, number 3 and no. 4, to his heirs and assigns. Item. I devise that my executor make sale of all my Personal estate; and to be equally divided between my two children, William and Teresa.---- And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Jacob Harbaugh to be my sole Executor of this my last will and testament. revoking and annulling and forever wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament.~ In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal. this ninth day of February, in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and thirty four.~ Signed, Sealed, published and declared by Laurence Erensperger the above named Testator, as and for his last will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at the request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnessed thereto. On the 15th day of March 1834, came Elias Harbaugh and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God; that the foregoing instrument of writing is the one whole will and testament of Laurence Ernsperger, late of Frederick County deceased, he received the same from the testator, for safe keeping and that he does not knows of any other.~ Test G.M. Eichelberger Maryland Frederick County, to wit. On the ?th day of March 1834, came Elias Harbaugh and John McClane two of the submitting witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament of Laurence Erinsperger died, and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that they did see the testator, therein named sign and seal this will, that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of a sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, that they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses thereto, at the request of the testator, and in his presence and that they did also see George Flautt, the other subscribing witness subscribe his name as a witness thereto at the request of the testator and in his presence and all in the presence of each other.~~ Test G.M.
