These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ Frederick Co MD Vol 3 page 146 Edward Hall probated: 21 Apr 1785 In the name of God Amen, I Edward Hall living in Frederick County in the State of Maryland being of sound mind and memory as I I hope those presents drawn up by myself and written with my own hand will testify to the 19th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty three make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz: First I give and bequeath unto my niece Elizabeth Hall daughter of my brother William Hall the plantation I now live on, that is all that lays to the Westward of the Long Branch including all the low grounds of said Branch and also Negroe Cate and two of her children vizs. Peter and Poll and their increase to her and her heirs forever and also my Black mare. I give and bequeath unto my niece Sophia Duvall, daughter of Marsh Maroon Duvall the plantation I bought of Jerom Plummer and all the remaining part of the tract of land I now live on that lays to the eastward of Low Grounds of the Long Branch and also Negro Rachael to her and her heirs forever. Thirdly, I give and bequeath unto my godson Edward Hall, son of my brother William allmy plate, watch, wearing apparell & Negroe Sall and George to be kept by his father till he arrives at the age of twenty one years to him and his heirs forever. Fourthly, I give and bequeath unto my two nieces aforesaid Elizabeth Hall and Sophia Duvall all the rest of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided between them to them & their heirs forever. Lastly, I constitute and appoint my Brother William Hall and Mr. Samuel Duvall of Wm. whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. signed, sealed, published and declared the day and year first within written by the said Edward Hall to be his last will and testament. Imprimes, the Land I lately bought of Philip Hammond called Walnut Bottom containing fifty acres I give and bequeath to my niece Sophia Duvall daughter of Marsh Moreau Duvall to her and her heirs forever ratifying and comfirming my former will of the 19th day of Aug. 1783 in all its parts and will have this codicil taken in part of my Last Will and Testament.
