I Thomas Hooper of Frederick County in the State of Maryland, being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, which is to say -- First and principally, I commit my Spirit to my Creator and my body to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor herinafter named, and after my debts and funeral charges are paid, I give, devise, and bequeath as follows -- I give and bequeath unto my Executor hereinafter named, two certificates of deposit of the Frederick Town Savings Institution for one hundred dollars each and numbered respectively 13914 and 14013, to be held by him in Trust and to be used and employed by him for the benefit of my Grand-Son Charles Francis Smith Gannon until my said Grand-Son attains his majority and then to pay over to him the same with the interest and profits accruing thereon. But in the event of the death of maid said grand-son before he attains his majority, I then will and direct that the said certificates of deposit and the profits thereof be equally divided between my sons John Henry [?] Hooper & Thomas Luther Hooper share & share alike -- I give and bequeath unto my Executor hereinafter named, all the rest and residue of my personal Estate of every kind and nature whatsoever. In Trust, however, that he shall use employ and [??] the same to the best advantage, and apply the note interest and profits thereof towards the support and maintenance of my son Thomas Luther Hooper until he attains my majority, and after his arrival at age, I then will and direct that the said last mentioned trust fund and property be equally divided between my said sons John Henry Hooper and Thomas Luther Hooper in equal portions share and share alike. I give and devise unto my son Thomas Luther Hooper all my real estate, being the House and Land now occupied by me, and being situate on the south side of East South Street in Frederick City, Maryland, to him his heirs and assigns in fee simple. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John Henry Hooper, to be sole Executor of this my last will and testament, herebly revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and none other as and for my last will and testament.
