I Tabitha Mobberly of Frederick County and State of Maryland Aged Twenty five years being sick and weak in body but of Sound and Disposing mind memory and understanding considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being Desirous to Settle my Worldly Affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to all me home do therefore make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following That is to say First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my mother ~ It is my will that my Negro woman Druse aged thirty one years on the fifteenth day of September last past shall serve my mother until she arrives to the age of thirty eight years and then to be set at liberty ~ And it is my will that my mother shall have the use of my part of the land left by my father During her natural life and then to be Equally Divided among my Brothers and Sisters and it is my will that my Sister Sarah shall have my Riding Mare ~ And lastly ~ I do hereby constitute and appoint my mother to be sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Sixteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve. Tabitha Mobberly her mark Signed Sealed Published and Declared by Tabitha Mobberly the above named Testatrix [?] her last will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have Subscribed our names in witness thereto ~ Jesse Wright, John H. Burgess, M. McLaughlin Frederick County to wit on the 26th day of May 1812 then came Drusilla Mobberly and made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that the foregoing instrument of writing is the true whole will and Testament of Tabitha Mobberly late of Frederick County Deceased that that come to her hands and possession and that she doth not know of any other. Rich. Butler Reg. Frederick County to wit on the 26th day of May 1812 then came Jesse Wright, John H. Burgess & Michael McLaughlin the three Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing last will and Testament of Tabitha Mobberly late of Frederick County Deceased and made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testatrix therein named Sign and seal this will that they heard her Publish Pronounce and Declare the same to be her last will and Testament That at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of a Sound and Disposing mind memory and understanding that they respectively Subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the Testatrix and all in the presence of each other.
