All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ In the Name of God Amen I Jacob Snider Junior of Frederick county and State of Maryland farmer being Sick and Weake in Body but of Sound mind and memory thanks to Almighty God for his mercies to me and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life and the Certainty of Death do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form as follows. First and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of the God that gave it me my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent and Christian like manner at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter to be named. Secondly I order all my Lawfull Debts and funeral charges to be paid out of my moveable Estate. Item I give and Bequeath to my Beloved Wife Cathrine Snider her Bed & Bedstead with all the Cloathing and furniture thereunto belonging, likewise my case of Drawers Likewise all the flax and wool flax yarn tow Yarn and woolen yarn now in or about the House or Barn likewise I give and Bequeath to my Beloved Wife all her Chinsy gowns ware and pewter that is in or about the House or Kitchen likewise two of my Brass Kettles which she may Chuse likewise what Linning there is in or about the House unmaid likewise one Washing Tub two Buckets and Iron pot which she shall chuse likewise my Knives & forks for Table use. It is likewise my will and pleasure and I order that my Executors doe Sell the whole of real Estate and all the personal that remains after what is Bequeathed to my Beloved Wife, and to apply the money that shall arive therefrom as shall hereafter be Directed to the Children of William Smith Deceased to said Children or to so many of them as Arrive to the Age of Twenty one Years I give and Bequeath the Sum of one Hundred Dolars to be equally Divided amongst said Children who may come to Age and it is my will & pleasure I order that the said Sum of one Hundred Dolars be taken out of the first monies ariving from the Sales of said Estate and be put to Interest as soon as may be that the said heirs may receive their Interest with the principle when they Come to the Age of Twenty one Years each Item I give and Bequeath farther to my beloved Wife Cathrine to one half of the Moneys arising from the Sales of my Estate Both real and personal that remains after the Hundred Dollars Bequeathed to the Children of William Smith is taken out the said half of the monies thence arrising to be hers and at her Disposal as she may think proper the other Halfe of said monies I give and Bequeath to my Brothers in Law Viz. Frederick Koofer of Frederick County and State of Maryland and Henry Sellers of the State of Kentucky to be equally Divided between my said Brothers in law And the said Monies I order to be paid them as soon as may be convenient after my Wifes halfe is fully paid to her, It is my will and pleasure and I order that my Executors do pay to my said Wife the sume of two Hundrend Pounds Specia as Soon as is convenient after the Sales of my property will admit and the remainder as she may require it with convenience to my said Executors and I do hereby Authorize and Empower my said Executors to make good and Sufficient Deed or Deeds for these my lands when Sold to the person or persons purchasing and I do hereby make ordain and appoint my Trusty and beloved friends Peter Shriner and Jacob Yon my lawful Executors of this my last will and Testament revoking all former will or wills Acknowledging this only to be my last Will and in Trust In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord 1803. Jacob Snider Junr {seal} Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and declared by the Testator to be his last will & Testament in Presents of us who were present at Signing and Sealing thereof Christian Stouffer Johannes Yawn John Fergusson Frederick County September 30th 1803 Then came Jacob Yon & Solemnly and Sincerely Affirmed and Declared and Peter Shriner made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that the foregoing Instrument of Writing is the true and whole will & testament of Jacob Snider Junr late of Frederick County Deceased that hath come to their hands and possession and that they do not know of any other. Frederick County September 30th 1803 then came Christian Stouffer one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing last will & Testament of Jacob Snider Junr late of Frederick County Deceased and Solemnly & Sincerely Affirmed & Declared that he did see the Testator herein named sign & seal this will At the same time John Yawn one other of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing last will & Testament of Jacob Snider Junr late of Frederick County Deceased and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that he did see the Testator therein named Sign and Seal this will that they heard him Publish Prounounce and declare the same to be his last will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of a Sound and disposing mind memory and Understanding that they respectively Subscribed their names as Witnesses to this will in the Presence and at the request of the Testator and that they did also see John Fergusson the other Subscribing Witness Sign his name as Witness to said will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and all in the Presence of each other George Murdock Regr.
