I Margaret Snook of Frederick County in the state of of [sic] Maryland being in good health in body and of sound disposing mind menory and understanding , but considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle all my worldy affairs and thereby to be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence I therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following to wit, first and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it, and my body to the earth to be decently buried, and after my just debts and funeral charges are paid by my Executor hereafter named I give and bequeath as follows. Item I give and bequeath unto my sons John and Frederick and two daughters Mary and Philipene fifty dollars to each and every one of them, and my beds & beding to be equally devided between the aforementioned John, Frederick, Mary & Philipene. Item I give & bequeath unto my daughters Mary & Philipene my body clothing to be equally divided between them. Item it is my will that my Executor hereinafter named to make sale of my personal property not herein before bequeathed, and after the aforesaid legacies paid off if any remaining of my estate to be equally divided share and share alike among all my children namely Catharine, John, Frederick, Jacob, Mary, Philipene, and lastly I constitute and appoint my trusty friend Henry Hemp, Jun. to my Executor of this my last will and testament, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineth day of March Eighteen hundred and twenty seven Signed sealed published and declared by Margaret Snook the Testator as her Last Will and testament who at her request and in her presence have hereunto set our names as witness thereto -- Jacob Cramer, Eli Cramer [executed 28 April 1828]
