All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Georgia Morgan geoiamorgan@att.net February 4, 2011, 6:07 pm Source: Frederick County, Maryland Wills, Liber A #1 1744-1777 Folio 592 Written: September 5, 1776 TANNER, Michael In the name of God Amen I Michael Tanner of Frederick County and province of Maryland being sick in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following I will and direct that all the goods or Effects of which I shall die possessed be sold by and out of the money arising from the sale thereof together with the money arising from the debts due to me I will that my executors do pay unto my son Andrew Tanner or to his heirs the sum of ten pounds Common money and it is my will that the remainder be divided into four equal shares and one share given to each of my children or their heir and I do hereby constitute and appoint my son-in-law John Storum Sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do impower him the said John Storum his heirs or executors to make over and convey unto a certain Jacob Good by a lawful deed of conveyance all my right claim and title to two out lots of ground lying in Taney Town and I further impower my said executor to convey agreeable to a Bond given by him unto a certain George Kelly his heirs or assigns a certain Lott of Land lying in Taney Town together with the Improvements and premises thereunto belonging. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of September in the year one thousand seven hundred seventy six. Michael Tanner (Seal) Signed sealed published and declared by the above Micael Tanner to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto set our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator Jacob Shiner Jacob (MI - his mark) Killinger On the twenty third day of March 1777 came Jacob Shiner and Jacob Killinger the two subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing will and made oath on the holy Evangels of almighty God that they did see the testator sign and seal the said will and heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind and memory and that they severally subscribed their names as witnesses to the said will in presence of the said testator and in presence of each other.
