TO WIT THIS INDENTURE made this eight day of March anno Domino One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Seven between William Squire of Allegany County and State of Maryland and Sarah his wife of the one part and Jacob Marckley of Bedford County & State of Pennsylvania of the other part witnesseth that the said William Squire and Sarah his wife for currancy to them in hand paid by the said Jacob Marckley the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged. He the said William Squire and Sarah his wife hath granted and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sold unto the said Jacob Marckly his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land that I purchased of Richard Hall who was lawfully empowered by Henry Hall and Elizabeth Hall of Burben County & State of Kentuckey for conveyi8ng the S(said) land all the right to that tract (said) and parcel of land being part f a tract of land called the Blooming Rose. Beginning at the beginning trees of the said tract and running thence with the eleven first lines of said tract to wit North twenty-two degrees East one hundred & twenty perches North forty degrees West fifty two perches North eighty perches North thirty four degrees West sixteen perches South twentyfive degrees East forty perches South fifteen degrees West thirty two perches South forty five degrees West forty perches, South fifty six degrees West twentyfour perches South thirty three degrees East fifty eight perches then by a straight line to the beginning containing one hundred acres together with all the premises thereto belonging or in any wise appurtaining to have and to hold the aforesaid one hundred acres of land with all the advantages rights profits and improvements thereto belonging or in any way appertaining unto him the said Jacob Marckly his heirs and assigns for ever and he aforesaid William & Sarah Squires doth make over the said one hundred acres of land unto the said Jacob Marckly his heirs and assigns and to the only proper use and behoof of the said Jacob Marckly his heirs and assigns forever and the said William & Sarah Squires for themselves and their heirs the said land and premises and every part again said Jacob Markly his heirs and assigns shall and will warant and defend forever by these presents.
