Mr. Gank was returning to his home from Oakland, having made some purchases here which he was carrying in a bag thrown over his shoulder when an east-bound train came along. He stepped from on track to the other when the accommodations, as above stated, struck him with fatal results. His body was brought to Oakland Sunday morning and interred in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, the services were conducted by Rev. Uhler, Pastor of St. Mark' Evanglical Lutheran Church. The deceased was a member of the German Lutheran church of Accident. He leaves two or three grown sons, his wife having died about seven years ago.
