Anne Bailey, Abi (sic) Bailey, Thomas Bailey – Harford County The petioners set forth that the petitioner’s father, Nehemiah Bailey of Harford County, now deceased, had a tract of land called “Stoney Batter”, 17 ¾ acres. He departed this life 1 January 1788, intestate, leaving Mary, Anne (the petitioner), Abi and Thomas Bailey, his only children and heirs. Mary has departed this life, intestate and without issue, whereupon her interest in land descended to surviving children of Nehemiah Bailey. Petitioners request patent to be issued to them. Betsy Ann Bull – Harford County 230 acres “Bull’s Romantick Hills”, Harford County, standing on ridge near land of Gist Vaughan then to oak standing by fork of the falls of the Northern Prong, then next to falls, then to land of Adam Burns, then to east end of Bull’s Mill Dam. 22 December 1788. MD LW&P 1784-1787, FHC Film 0013123, page 606. Note: Betsy Ann Bull was Betsy Ann Slade, daughter of Josias Slade and Mary Day, married Isaac Bull in 1761, St. John’s and St. George’s Parish. She is a sister to William Slade of “Slade’s Chance”, Harford County and William married Elizabeth Stansbury. Thomas Clark of Harford County Thomas Clark, by his petition, did set forth that Robert Clark, late of this county, deceased, in his life time purchased part of the reserved land and had a survey made and a certificate returned to the land office by the name of “Clark’s Quiet Inheritance”, containing 229 acres. That the said Robert Clark departed this life, intestate, on 1 January 1788, leaving Nancy, who intermarried with Richard Biddle, Thomas Clark, Elizabeth, who intermarried with John B. Biddle, John Clark, Keziah, who intermarried with Asail Low, Robert, Jemima, Delia, Allasana, William, Hannah and James Clark, his only children. Patent issued 3 may 1804. Henry Cooper of Harford County Whereas Jervice Thompson and Mary, his wife, by their petition did set forth that Henry Cooper, late of Harford County, deceased, in his lifetime, to wit, 26 June 1815, obtained special warrant to survey “Cooper’s Chance Enlarged”, lying in county aforesaid, originally 13 May 1796 granted to Henry Cooper for 111 acres. The said warrant not being…..was given the surveyor to include on the survey part of tract called “Howard’s Invitation ”, originally on 19 July 1739 granted Charles Ridgley and wife for 470 acres with liberty of correcting and adding contiguous vacant lands. Total of 347 ¼ acres called “Cooper’s Park”. Henry Cooper since departed life intestate, the following, his only children and heirs at law: Mary, who intermarried with Jervice Thompson, the petitioner; Henrietta, Nathaniel, Basil, Henry, Ann, who hath since intermarried with Francis Leonard, who is dead; Susannah, who has intermarried with James Quinlan (Md Marriage records date 1798); Elizabeth, who intermarried with Thomas Green, Philip, Eleanor, who intermarried with James Greenfield, now dead, and William, who died before his father, leaving three children, Francis, Mary and Elizabeth Cooper. Petitioners pray that patent may be issued to Mary Thompson, Henrietta, Nathaniel, Basil and Henry Cooper, Ann Leonard, Susannah Quinlan, Elizabeth Green, Philip Cooper and Eleanor Greenfield for 10 undivided parts. Honore – Harford County 475 acres “Normunda” Mordecai Amoss of Harford County became the purchaser of part of the Reserve Lands in said county, certificate for ”Normunda” containg 475 acres on 2 April 1788, land reverted to the state, sold by Mr. Robert Amoss, sheriff of Harford County, for debts incurred by Mordecai Amoss and Peter Delivet purchased land. The purchase was for John Hankart (?), then he gave power to Mr. Jo. White (Joseph/Jonathon?) to sell land to John Honore. A Certain Sarah Finley in 1780 purchased a parcel of land and the petitioner became installed on this land after her death. 87 ¼ acres. That Sarah, being at the time of purchase the widow of John Finley, had been married first to Hugh Nevin, who died after having made the same intestate, leaving as her only heirs, three children by her first husband. Andrew Nevin, Eleanor Nevin, who had intermarried with Thomas Montgomery and Agnes Nevin who has since intermarried with the petitioner, Michael Montgomery, all which wants appear by the deposition of Thomas Hope.
