Your latest misfortune however, is greater than the first and you have my heartfelt sympathy: thought the penitentiary would be your final destination. I will endeavor to have Govenor Warfield pardon you in time for you to eat your fourth of July dinner with you family; in the meantime (I) will write Warden Weyler to be kind to you. Say, no kidding, come over some time and bring your wife and seven children along with you. We will be more than glad to have you visit us, let us know when you're coming, because you might strike a day that we would be away. I was over to Woodstock (a) couple of Sundays ago. It is still the same old place. Church seems to be on it's last legs. There are many new faces hanging around the old town that were not there when you and I hit the road together. When I meet Willie, don't know if it is Willie or Larry. They have all grown out of my ---?---- recollection. It has nearly been eleven years since I left there, and do not believe (I) could live contentedly in the old town again. With best wishes to you, (your) wife, and little one, I am Your Cousin, J. A. Feeney (John Aloyisus Feeney) P.S. I suggest when you come over, as Warden Weyler permission to leave your stripped suit off, as we do not want any Jailbird looking people prowling our streets, you would get pulled and sent to Rockville and you would be in as bad as a fix as you are now. Additional Comments: This was kindly passed onto me from my cousin Francis Joseph Feeney of Balto. MD. This letter was written to his dad from my Great Grandfather in 1907 from Kensington, MD. Very funny; he had a sense of humor. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mdfiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
