The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** To all that shall see this prsents, or heare thm to be Read Sr Richard Chiuerton Knight Lord Maior of the City of London, & the Aldermen or Senatrs of teh same Citty send greetinge Knowe yee that on the day of the date hereof there appeared, & psonally came, into the Court holden before us, in the Chamber of the Guildhall of the said Citty, Henry Hide of the Parish of Bennet Pauleswharfe London waterman, Aged sixty six years or there abouts, & Henry Bicke of the Parish of St Andrew in the wardropbe London waterman, Aged Fifty Fower yeares or there abouts beinge persons well knowne & worthy of good Creditt, who upon their Oaths, upon the Holy Euangalists of Almighty God before us then & there solemnly taken & made did say depose & Testifie for un- doubted truth, That they haue known & beene Familiarly acquainted wth Robert Browne of the Parish of Margrets in Westminster in the County of Midd waterman For the space of thirty yeares or more now last past, And did likewise well know & ware familiarly acquinted wth one Nicholas Browne (who about Twenty Fower years since went hence into Verginia, and (as they heare) is there Latly decsd for diuers years before his departure out of England; & That the sd Robt & Nicholas did owne each other for Brethern And ware soe taken & Reputed by & amongst all their aquintance, And Further teis Deponts did know the Mother of the sd Robt & Nicholas Browne who came out of wiltshire, to liue in the sd Parish of Bennets about two years before the said depture of Nicho Browne for Virginia; And afterwards dyed & was Buried in the Church yard of the sd Parish; Soe tht theis deponts doe undoubtedly beleive the said Robt Browne to be the Naturall & Lawfull Brother of the said Nicholas Browne deceased: In witness whereof wee the said Lord Maior And Aldermen or Senators of the said Citty of Lond. jaue caused the Seale of the office of Maioralty of the said Cittie to be put to Theis presents. Dated at London the twenty seuenth day of August in the yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred Fifty & eight. Sadler This sertificate was Read in Court & ordered to be put on Record Teste me John Cowrsey Clk. Articles agreed upon Condiconed & Concluded, in And betwene mr Robert Browne of the one pty, witneseth That the said Henry Tailer shall Liue wth the said mr Browne for & dureinge the space of three yeares from the day here of, & alsoe tht the said Tailer shall to the best of his endeuour & skill, prosecute the takeinge up of all such Calues & Cowes either in teh wild heard of Cattle or else where on the Island aforesd as shall belonge unto the sd mr Robt Browne & to bringe them to his sd Plantacon as alsoe to doe any other thinge needfull to be done in & about the said Plantacon or Orchard for the sd mr Browne dureinge the sd Terme of time, or about such needfull occations as the sd mr Browne shall haue not hindringe the sd Tailer in his Cropp or Crops In Consideracon there of the sd Robert Browne doth allow unto the sd Tailer for his Labour & paines, The one halfe of all such Calues as shall be fallen or calued dureinge the sd time & taken upp, And to haue the benifite of the one halfe of the yearly produce of the Orchard, And to haue Land & Housinge to make a Cropp either of or for corne & Tob, & mr Browne to Assist the said Tailer in what he may, Exceptinge in the said Cropp & to allow the sd Tailer in what paines he shall take in the winter about Killinge any cattle, & to allowe him Meate Drink & Lodginge, Furthermore the sd Tailer is to Kill such provition out of the Stocke of Cattle as shall be for the use of the House wthout Consideration witnes our hans this 14th of Feb. 1658 Robt (O) Browne Test Charles Stuard his marke Hen: (X) Tailer his marke this was owned in Court Test. me John Cowrsey Clk
