All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jeanette Sherbondy jsherbondy2@washcoll.edu August 15, 2012, 5:09 pm Tract in First Election District of Kent County, MD Written: December 27, 1862 Recorded: December 27, 1862 “Isaac Brown to William Caulk Be it remembered that on this 27th day of December anno Domini 1862 a Deed was brought to be recorded among the Land Records for Kent County which is in the following words to wit: This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of December eighteen hundred and sixty two, between Isaac Brown (col man) of Kent County and State of Maryland of the one part and William Caulk (col man) of the same county and State of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Isaac Brown for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars current money of the State of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said William Caulk at and before the/[folio363] sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and from every part and parcel thereof the said Isaac Brown doth hereby acquit exonerate and discharge the said William Caulk his heirs, executors, or administrators, the said Isaac Brown hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Caulk his heirs and assigns all of that land and premises situate in the first Election District of Kent County and State of Maryland and adjoins the lands of Thomas Paca (col man) and land, reserved to the said Isaac Brown Beginning at a Stone at the South West corner or a lot belonging to the said Thomas Paca, and running from thence North sixty nine degrees West nineteen perches and eight tenths of a perch to a Stone at the south east corner of a sixteen feet road reserved to the said Isaac Brown, then with the said road North twelve degrees and three quarters of a degree East, twelve perches and fifty eight hundredths of a perch to a stone, then South sixty nine degrees East, twenty two perches to a Stone then with Thomas Paca’s land South, twenty two degrees and one half of a degree west, twelve perches and four tenths of a perch to the Beginning containing one acre and one half of an acre more or less, Together with all and singular the rights, ways, liberties, privileges and hereditaments, and all the estate right title interest, rents issues and profits, and reversions and remainders to him the said William Caulk his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no use or purpose according to the purport and true intent of the said deed or instrument of writing. And the said Isaac Brown for Himself his heirs executors or administrators doth grant covenant promise and agree to and with the said William Caulk, his heirs and Assigns, the piece of land and premises herein described and conveyed against them the said Isaac Brown and his heirs and against all and every person or persons claiming or to claim any part thereof, shall and will hereafter warrant and forever defend by these presents. On testimony whereof the said Isaac Brown hath hereto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written, Signed, Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Philip Wedders Isaac his Brown X Mark Received the day of the date of the within ded of the within named William Caulk the sum of thirty dollars current money being the consideration named the aforegoing deed.
