Be it remembered that on this 23rd day of March AD 1861 a Deed was brought to be
recorded among the Land Records for Kent County, which is in the following words
to wit:

This Deed made this twenty-third day of February in the year eighteen hundred
and sixty one by us Joshua Cork, Minty Cork, Isaiah Cork and Ellis Cork,
Witnesseth that in consideration of the Sun of two hundred dollars current money
we the said Joshua Cork, Minty Cork, Isaiah Cork and Ellis Cork do grant unto
Jacob Barkman and Budd S. Ford their heirs and assigns all those parts of a
tract or tracts or parcels of land lying and being in Election district No.
[blank] Kent County Maryland and adjoining the lands of J. Slaughter and others
and contained within the following lines, that is to say beginning for one
parcel as a stone set for a boundary of Minty Cork’s lot and running thence
south three degrees east twenty perches seventeen links to the middle of an old
fence bank, thence with said fence bank seventy nine degrees east thirty four
perches to a bend in the bank, thence with said bend south sixty-nine degrees
east thirty six perches fourteen links to J. laughter’s line, thence with said
line south twenty-two and one fourth degrees east eleven perches thirteen links
to Araminta Cork’s lot. Thence with the line of said lot south sixty seven and
three fourths degrees west seventy seven and a half perches to the place of
beginning, also beginning for another parcel of land as a stake set in the line
of Slaughter’s land and running thence south sixty seven and three quarters
degrees west seventy seven seven [sic] and a half perches to a stone/[p. 462]
set for a corner of Araminta Cork’s land, thence south seven and a quarter
degrees east, thirty two perches and four links, thence south sixty one degrees
east eighty five perches and nine links to a stone set in Jonathan slaughter’s
line, thence with said line north twenty two and a quarter degrees west to the
place of beginning, said two parcels of land together containing twenty acres
more or less. To Have and to Hold said land and premises unto the said Jacob
Barkman and Budd S. Ford their heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joshua
Cork, Minty Cork, Isaiah Cork and Ellis Cork for themselves their heirs and
personal representatives and assigns and for every of them do jointly and
severally covenant, promise and grant, to and with the said Jacob Barkman and
Budd S. Ford their heirs personal representatives and assigns, that the parts of
a tract or tracts and parcels of land and premises herein before described and
herein mentioned to be granted with the appurtenances unto said Jacob Barkman
and Budd S. Ford their heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever
defend by these presents against the claims of all persons whomsoever. And the
said Joshua Cork, Minty cork Isaiah Cork and Ellis Cork for themselves, their
heirs and personal representatives and for every of them do jointly and
severally covenant and grant to and with the said Jacob Barkman and Budd S. Ford
their heirs personal representatives and assigns that they the said Joshua Cork,
Minty Cork Isaiah Cork and Ellis Cork as the delivery hereof are and stand
lawfully seized of and in the several parts and proportions of and in said
parcels of land and premises herein mentioned to be granted and also that they
the said Joshua Cork Minty Cork Isaiah Cork and Elli Cork have good right full
power and absolute authority to convey the said land unto the said Jacob Barkman
and Budd S. Ford in the manner in which the same is conveyed or intended Soto be
according to the true intent and meaning hereof and the said Joshua Cork Minty
Cork Isaiah Cork and Ellis Cork for themselves and their heirs jointly and
severally hereby covenant and grant to and with the said Jacob Barkman and Budd
S. Ford their heirs and assigns that they the said Jacob Barkman and Budd S.
Ford and their heirs and assigns may and shall at any and all times hereafter
peaceably and quietly enter upon and have hold and enjoy the lands and premises
hereby conveyed or intended so to be conveyed with all the rights, privileges
and appurtenances there unto belonging and to receive the rents and profits
thereof to and for their use and benefit without any eviction, interruption suit
claim or demand whatever by the said Joshua Cork, Minty/[p. 463] Cork, Isaiah
cork and Ellis Cork their heirs or assigns or any or either of them or any other
person or persons whatever. And the said Joshua Cork, Minty Cork Isaiah Cork and
Ellis Cork for themselves and their heirs jointly and severally covenant promise
and and [sic] agree to and with the said Jacob Barkman and Budd S. Ford, their
heirs and assigns that they the said Joshua Cork, Minty Cork Isaiah Cork and
Ellis Cork their heirs and all persons claiming under them Shall and will at all
times hereafter at the reasonable request cost and charge of the said Jacob
Barkman and Budd S. Ford or any of their heirs or assigns make and lawfully
execute, acknowledge and deliver all and every such further and other deed,
conveyance and assurance in the law whatsoever for the better and more fully
conveying and assuring to the said Jacob Barkman and Budd S. Ford their heirs
and assigns the said premises with the appertences heretofore described and
mentioned to be granted according to the true intent and meaning of the parties
to these presents as by the said Jacob Barkman and Budd S. Ford their heirs or
assigns or by any of their counsel learned in the law shall be reasonably
devised or advised and required, Witness our hands and Seals
Test.
The name “Budd S. Ford” interlined and made a party grantee to the foregoing
deed before signing

I hereby certify that on this twenty third day of February in the year eighteen
hundredand sixty one before the subscriber a Justice  of the peace of the state
of Maryland in and for Kent county aforesaid personally appeared Joshua Cork,
Minty Cork, Isaiah Cork and Ellis Corke and did each acknowledge the aforegoing
deed to be their respective act.
