Jones et al To The Church Extension Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church Be it remembered that on this 15th day of Nov.r A.D. 1869 a Mortgage made and duly stamped was brought to be recorded among the Land Records for Kent County in the following words to wit: The Mortgage made this Second day of October in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-nine by and between Charles W. Jones, Marshall J. Jones, Isaac Cotton, Samuel Gleaves, Isaac S. Jones, Isaiah Caulk, John Strickning, Samuel J. Gleaves and Isaac Caulk, Trustees of the Joshua Methodist Episcopal Church in Millington Circuit, Kent County, Maryland, of the one part and The Church Extension Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church of the other part. Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars now due from us the said Trustees to the said Society, we the said Charles W. Jones, Marshall J. Jones, Isaac Cotton, Samuel Gleaves, Isaac S. Jones, Isaiah Caulk, John Stricking, Samuel J. Gleaves and Isaac Caulk, Trustees aforesaid do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Church Extension Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church All that lot, part of a lot or parcel of land situate lying and being in Morgan's Creek Neck in Kent County, Maryland and described as follows, that is to say Beginning for the same at a stone set in the road leading from Chestertown towards Millington near the Col.d people's church, and running thence South, seventy nine degrees, West, ten perches, thence South fourteen degrees, East, sixteen perches, thence North seventy-nine degrees, East, ten perches, thence sixteen perches to the beginning point, containing one acre. Together with all and singular the buildings and improvements thereon, being the same parcel of land which was conveyed to the said Trustees by certain Isaac Caulk by deed of bargain and sale, duly executed and dated on or about the second day of October, A.D. 1869. Provided that if we the said Charles W. Jones, Marshall J. Jones, Isaac Cotton, Samuel Gleaves, Isaac S. Jones, Isaiah Caulk, John Stricking, Samuel J. Gleaves and Isaac Caulk shall pay to the said Church Extension Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church the said sum of two hundred collars with interest thereon at six per centum per annum payable semi-annually from the tenth day of November eighteen hundred and sixty-nine, in manner and form following, that is to say, Interest on the whole sum unpaid shall be paid semi-annually on the first day of May and the first day of November in each and every year until the whole/[f. 282] sum shall have been paid off, and shall pay the sum of one hundred dollars, part thereof with the interest then due on or before the first day of November, eighteen hundred and seventy-one together with all interest then due, then this Mortgage shall be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue in law. In Witness whereof, we, the said Charles W. Jones, Marshall J. Jones, Isaac Cotton, Samuel Gleaves, Isaac S. Jones, Isaiah Caulk, John Stricking, Samuel J.
