A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/kent/wills/howard-mp.pdf Mary (Pullen) Howard (d1736) Wife of Matthew Howard (d1750) Other husbands: ----- Kennard and George Browning Will Kent County MD Maryland Hall of Records 21:659 (Microfilm SR4415-2) Written 7 April 1730 Probate 25 August 1736 In the Name of God Amen I Mary Howard of Kent County wife of Mathew Howard of Said County Carpenter being of Sound and perfect mind and memory praise be to Almighty God for his Mercies but Considering the Uncertainty of this Transitory life and that there is a time Appointed for all mankind once to Die I Doe by and with the advise and cosent of my s{d} Husband publish and make This my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to Say Imprimis I recommend my soule into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator who gave it me in Sure and Certain hopes of his resurrection the Eternal Life thro the merits death and passion of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ my Body I Committ to the Earth to be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as for Such wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I give Devise bequeath and Dispose of the same as followeth And first, I give Devise and bequeath unto my Two Sons Richard Kennard and Nath{ll} Kennard all that Tract or parcel of Land Called Denbigh(?) Containing by Estimation three hundred and Sixty acres more or less Scituate Lying and being in Worton Creek in Kent County on the Eastern Side of Chespeick Bay to be Divided between as Equally as may justly without prejudice to the Settlements on the Said Tract of Land already Made by my Two Sons or Either of them to have to hold the Said Tract of Land when divided as above Directed unto my Said Two Sons each of them his Share separate Heirs for ever. Item I give Devise & bequeath unto my Son George Browning and his Heirs of his Body lawfully Begotten all that Tract of Land Called Pullings Refuge Scituate in Cecil County near the head of Sarsafras River but if my Son George Browning Should Die without Issue or if he Should have them and they Dye in their nonage that then I give devise and bequeath the said land bequeath unto my Son George Browning unto my Two Grandsons vizt John Kennard the son of Richard Kennard and John Kennard the Son of Nath{ll} Kennard to be Equally Divided between them Share and Share alike to have and to hold the Said Tract of land to them and their Heires for ever Item I give Devise and bequeath after the the Death of my Husband unto my Daughter Eliz{th} William the one half of those Tracts of land called y{e} Cove and the Cove Tract Lying on Steele(?) pond one of them being the plantacon I now live on to her and her heirs for ever and the other half of said Tracts of Land called the Cove and the Cove tract I give Devise and bequeath unto my two grandsons Philip Spearman and Abraham Spearman to have and to hold to them and their heirs for ever Item I do hereby Constitute and appoint my Said Husband Mathew Howard full and Sole & Executor of this my Last Will and Testament thereby revokeing all former Wills Heretofore made In Witness where of I have Hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Seventh Day of April Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Mathew Howard (seal) Mary (the mark of) Howard (seal) Signed sealed Published and Declared to be my Last Will and Testament in the presence of John Tilden Catherine Tilden Teabotta(?) Subscribing Witnesses to the within Will being Duly & Solemnly Sworn on the Holy Evangeslist of Almight God do depose and Say that they Saw Mary Howard wife of Mathew Howard Sign the within Will and heard her publish and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament that at the time of her so doing she was to the Best of their Apprehension of sound and Disposing mind and memory and That they Subscribed their respective names as Witnesses to the Said Will in the presence of the Said Mary Howard the Testator & at her Request Sworn before ?
