The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Judith Webb Lockard The Will of John Tucker, Sr. of Kent Co., MD Liber 3, folio 16-17 ca. 1709/10 In the name of God Amen, This second day of March in the year of our Lord 1708/09 , I John Tucker in Kent County in the province of Maryland, Blacksmith, being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therfor calling unto my mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make & ordain this my last will and testament that is to say, principally and first of all I give & recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it, and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like & decent manner at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall relate the fame again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless one in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner & form ------- Item. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son John Tucker that plantation that I now live on with one just half of the land belonging to the said plantation by him freely to be possessed and enjoyed. ------- Item. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Armarall Tucker the other half of the land belonging to the said plantation above mentioned and after my lawful & just debts is payed, the moveables to be equally be divided between my son John Tucker & my daughter Armarall. ------- And I likewise constitute make and ordain my dear and well beloved wife Sarah Tucker & John Long my only and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannul all and every other Testaments wills and legacies bequests and Executors by me in anyways before this time named willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
