King tibbs43192004@yahoo.com March 24, 2007, 12:57 pm Confederate Records 1861-1865. Pension App., 1902 Thomas Henry King, (1837-1917) was born in Montgomery County, Va., October 25,1837. Enlisted in the Confederate Army April 1, 1861. He was in several battles. Was captured at the battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse, May 12, 1864. Sent to Point Lookout, Md., then to Elmira, N. Y. When General Lee surrendered to Grant, April 9, 1965 Thomas was parolled July 1965. He told my Dad and his Grandson that he had to walk home 300 miles. He could not tell where he was shooting as the powder was not smokeless. Thomas died at Lebanon, Va., August 24 , 1917 and is buried in Lebanon. John B.
