Rabbitt Dorothy M. Rabbitt, 86, of Silver Spring died Jan. 29 at Montgomery General Hospital, Olney. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence C. Rabbitt Born Feb. 9, 1910, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Annette Dwyer Martin. She is survived by a brother, William T. Martin of Silver Spring. Services were held Feb. 1 at the Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring. Arrangements were provided by Barber Funeral Home. Dorothy R. Romans Dorothy R. Romans, 80, died Jan. 29 at the Carriage Hill Nursing Center in Silver Spring. She was a homemaker and active with the Montgomery County Fair. She was born July 14, 1916, in Iowa. She attended Grace United Methodist Church, Silver Spring. She is survived by her husband, James Romans; three sons, James R., William R. and Larry D. Romans; one sister, Elvie Reetz; and nine grandchildren. Services were held at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Silent City Cemetery, Monroe, Iowa. Arrangements were provided by Takoma Funeral Home, Washington, D.C. *****Feb. 19, 1997***** Owen Wilberger Owen Wilberger, 83, a former Eye Bank President, civic leader, and owner- operator of several area service stations, died Feb. 4 of heart and kidney disease at the Genesis Layhill Center. He was a 40-year resident of the Layhill area. Mr. Wilberger was president and a long-time board member of District 22-C Lions Eye Bank and Research Foundation in Washington, president of the Sandy Spring Lions Club and president of Allanwood-Gayfields-Wilson Hill-Gaywoods Estates Civic Association. He served for many years on the board of Ashton United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Mr. Wilberger successively owned and operated three service stations in Montgomery County: Aspen Hill Citgo, Colesville Citgo and Fairland Citgo. He retired in 1977 and took a sales position at Clark Manufacturing Company in Silver Spring, where he worked until 1985. He received numerous awards and citations for his volunteer work in the community, and in 1990 was named Melvin Jones Fellow by the Lions International Foundation for dedicated humanitarian services. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margaret Berg of Layhill; a daughter, Linda Wilberger Egan of Rose Valley, Pa.; a son, James Owen Wilberger of Los Angeles; his stepmother, Emma Wilberger of Kensington; two brothers, Preston Wilberger of Wheaton and Wallace Wilberger Jr. of Leggett, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Arrangements were provided by the Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville.
