Liber C-D 1792-1802 In the Name of God Amen I EDWARD BROWNING of Montgomery County & State of Maryland Planter being of perfect and sound mind & memory do make and ordain this my last will and & Testament in manner and form following Viz---- Imprimis it is my will that all my Just Debts shall be first paid- Item I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife REBECCA BROWNING all my Estate Real and personal except the Land which I hold on BENNETTS Creek during her life in Widowhood but under the Care of WALTER MITCHEL both her and her property as long as she may live- Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter LUCRETIA MITCHEL and her Husband WALTER MITCHEL all my tracts of Land whereon I now dwell Called SNOWDEN'S MANOR enlarged and a small piece Called BROWNINGS FOLLY to them and their Heirs for ever after the decease of my wife as also a yellow Girl called Letty after the death of my wife to my Daughter LUCRETIA as long as my said Daughter shall live and after her death to be free, and be it remembered that all cuch children as she may bear during her state of servitude shall be the property of my aforesd Daughter LUCRETIA MITCHEL & her heirs till they are twenty five years of age and after that to be free- Item I give and bequeath to my son EDWARD BROWNING all the Land which I hold on BENNETTS Creek to become his property immediatily after my decease and devolve to his heirs for ever - Item I give and bequeath to Grand Son EDWARD BROWNING five Shillings Sterling and to my Grand Son JOSIAH BROWNING the like sum-- Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter KIZEAH CASEY the sum of five shillings sterlg also and the my Grand Son THOMAS son of SARAH and JAMES CASE the sum of five shillings likewise in Sterlg Money- Item to my Daughter DELILAH BEASHEARS the same sum, also to ANN MITCHEL the sum of five shillings Sterlg Item to ELIZABETH TUCKER the same sum Item my will is Lastly that WALTER MITCHEL be constituted sole Excutor of the my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand and eight hundred signed sealed published prnounced and } declared in presence of us who in the } EDWARD BROWNING SENR seal presence of the Testator and in presence of} each other have subscribed our names } JAMES WILSON PERRY, BENJN WATERS, ARCHIBALD MASON, CHARLETON SMITH- Montgomery County Scs On the 21th day of January 1801 Then came JAMES WILLSON PERRY, BENJAMIN WATERS AND ARCHIBALD MASON three of the subscribing Witnesses to the within last Will and Testament of EDWARD BROWNING SENR late of said County deceased and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein Named sign and seal this Will and that they have heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of Sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they respectively subscribed their Names as Witness to this Will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of CHARLETON SMITH the other Subscribing Witness and in the presence of each other---- = 5 sides 79 words= Certified by SAML TURNER Regs . . .
