The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Transcript from Montgomery County Wills Liber Z, folio 335 In the name of God Amen I, Hazel Burdict (sic) of Montgomery County and state of Maryland, being weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding and disposed to settle my worldly affairs when it may please Almighty God to call me from this world, Item first, that my body be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor and all my just debts are to be paid. Second - I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth and my worthy stepson Washington Mobly all my personal and real estate whatsover to sell and dispose of it at their discretion for the use and benefit of my said wife and all my children, and any contract sale or deed of conveyance by them made for said property shall be binding as if myself had done it in fee simple. My will and request is that the said Washington Mobly shall settle up the estate now unsettled of my late deceased father Benjamin Burdett. Lastly, I do appoint the aforesaid Washington Mobly to be my sole Executor of this my last will and testament, finally doth declare this to be my last will and testament revoking all heretofore by me made. In testimony hath hereunto affixed by hand and seal this 21st day of May in the year of our Lord 1839. Witnessed by William Willson of John, James H. Miles, and Henry Winson. Presented for probate 9 December 1845 by the above named witnesses. Then the will book states, Know all men by these presents that we George W. Mobley, William Brown and Rufus King of Montgomery county in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of six thousand dollars current money, to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney ... The condition of the above obligation is such that the above George W. Mobley shall well and truly perform the office of Executor of Hazel Burdett's estate.
