A former resident of Aquasco, Grimes' service was held Wednesday at the Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf. Born June 23, 1913, in Maryland, Grimes was a veteran of World War II and a former postmaster with the U.S. government. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of DeBary, Fla.; sons Eugene Grimes of Aquasco and Ozello Ehrhardt of Sandusky, Ohio; sisters Ruby of Gimpel, Texas, and Eunice of Paris, Texas, brother Henry of White Plains, six children and four great-grandchildren. His family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Baden. *****Feb. 27, 2003***** Almeda Hudson Armentrout Almeda Hudson Armentrout, 102, of Hyattsville died Feb. 13. She was the mother of Hyattsville Mayor Robert W. Armentrout. Mrs. Armentrout was born Aug. 29, 1900, in Washington, Va. She was the eighth of the 11 children of Thaddeus Herndon Hudson (1856-1930) and Mary "Mollie Belle" Hawkins Hudson (1863-1934). She moved to the Washington, D.C., area in 1922 with her husband, Charles Lewis Armentrout (1895-1953). Besides Robert Armentrout, her descendents include former Hyattsville Mayor Charles L. Armentrout Jr. (1925-1990). Mrs. Armentrout worked as a clerk, manager and owner of the Ladies Exchange (domestic) Employment Exchange from 1922 until its closing in 1976. She then went to work as a consultant to "Over Sixty" employment service in Montgomery County until her retirement at age 86. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hyattsville, and a 50- plus year member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Armentrout entered Independence Court in Hyattsville on June 3, 1999, because of physical problems. She held a 100th birthday celebration there in 2000 that was attended by more than 100 friends and relatives. In addition to her son, Robert, Mrs. Armentrout is survived by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. After being postponed by the snowstorm, funeral services were held Feb. 20 at the First Baptist Church of Hyattsville. Internment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Anne Schlossenberg Anne Schlossenberg, 48, of Beltsville died Saturday at Johns Hopkins University Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Ellis Schlossenberg. She had been the secretary at Calverton Elementary School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Samuel Matthew Schlossenberg; her parents, George and Mary Mutimer; a brother, Paul Mutimer; three sisters, Therese McGee and husband Charlie, Monica Wiley and husband Steven, and Margaret Potter and husband Stephen; and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Springbrook High School, she has many family and friends in Montgomery County. Funeral service was held at Congregation Oseh Shalom in Laurel on Monday. Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
