Mary McVey. Three children, John b. 1810, George and Anne; died at Georgetown Hospital, 1815. They owned a plantation in Bladensburg from about 1800. Family lore has it the plantation was burned to the ground and all records lost during the War of 1812. Wife, Mary is found in the 1820 Bladensburg census. She then moved to Washington DC when her daughter married Thomas May. He and Mary spelled their name BING. John's will and estate papers are found in the Maryland Archives, Box 9, folder 10; 0-50-6-9, number of pages 21. The handwriting is difficult to decipher. But here is a list of surnames found among the papers. ****** He owed $67 dollars on interest, payable 28th Dec 1813, to Mrs. Margaret HICKMAN. Witness: R. Tomsonby or Ponsonby. Debt was paid May 18, 1816 by the executor of his estate Thomas Farral or Ferral. Will witnesses: Thomas Ferral, Zephariah Prather, William Cromm, Cronn. A sale of his personal effects was held and items were bought by the following people: Most of the things were bought by Mary McVey Bing and Thomas May and William Bing. Capt. I think Thomas Ferral was a close family friend. There is also a running tab (at a store?) of assorted items, varying from a bag of shad to "ship's stuff" to John Eliason Jr., which was settled up. And he owed money to the following people: John Bing's doctor G. D. Hanson was paid $9.20. And one Benj. Belt was paid $29.50. And Griffith Coombe $9.95. John M. McGowan Benj. Ogle Dr. Thomas H.
