These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _________________________________________________________________________ In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Hamilton of Prince Georges County in the State of Maryland Surgeon being weak in Body but of sound mind and Memory considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs do therefore make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I implore the mercy of Almighty God and pardon of Sin through the all sufficient merits of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and by the sanctifying Grace of his holy spirit. I hope for eternal Life. My Body to be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as for my Temporal Estate which God hath been pleased to bless me with after my just Debts and funeral Expenses are fully paid I give and bequeath as followeth I give and bequeath to my Loving wife Leanora Hamilton the following Negros, to wit, Toney, Baker, Saul, Conner, Old Pegg, Tabitha and all her future Increase and her children whose names are Lenny, Peg, Wall, Corse and Lettishia as also my Stock of Horses, Black Cattle, Sheep and Hogs, House hold Furniture and Plantation Utensils all for and during her natural Life, and after her decease to be Equably divided among my Children and Grandson Thomas Hamilton and their Heirs but my will is not to debar my loving wife from giving any part of the before bequeathed Stock Negros Household furniture or the future increase of them to any of my children or Grand Children hoping still to have regard to their wants and deservings. Item I give devise and bequeath to my Loving Daughter Agnes Brown all my Right and Title and Interest of in and to all that Land I Purchased of Ann Rooney lying on the East of Mount Calvert Branch unto her and her Heirs forever. I do hereby Confirm unto her the Negros with their future Increase and other effects that is in her Possession I formerly gave her to her and her heirs for ever. Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my loving Daughter Janet Tillard and her heirs for ever Twenty five Acres of Land I Purchased of Thomas Selby Son of Joseph being part of Mount Calvert manner and also one moiety or half of the Sixty Acres of Land I bought of William Groome being part of Mount Calvert mannor the Thirty Acres to be land of on the north East Corner and do Confirm her Right to all the Negroes formerly Given her with their future Increase and to all other Effects in her present Possession. Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my loving Daughter Martha Morgan all that Tract or parcel of Land known by the name of West Quarter, adjoining the Land of John Wynn, being four hundred Acres more or less after my Debt being paid. I give unto her and her Heirs for ever and I hereby Confirm her right to all the Negroes with their future Increase and other Effects formerly given her and in her present Possession. Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my Grand Son Thomas Hamilton One hundred Acres of Land with all the improvements thereon it being part of Mount Calvert Mannor known by the Name of Bradley's Hundred and lying on the west side of Mount Calvert Branch the Land is part of the Land I Purchased of Ann Rooney whereon my Son lately Dwelt but if my Grandson Thomas hamilton should die without Issue Lawfully begotten the said One hundred Acres of Land to become the property of my Grandson Thomas Hamilton Tillard and his Heirs for ever as also one Negro man named Frank to my said Grandson Thomas Hamilton. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas Hamilton Tillard one Negro Girl named Priscilla Daughter of Tabitha and her future increase and also my second hand Silver watch now in the Possession of W. John Brown to be delivered to him immediately after my decease. Item I give devise and bequeath unto my three Daughters and my Grandson namely Agnes, Janet, Martha and Thomas Hamilton all the Money I had in the hands of Mr. James Miller of To_s at his Decease and the money arising from my Accounts Books notes Bond or Certificates to them and Their Heirs for ever to be paid into their hands and each and every of them their and every of their Heirs as received by my Executors without neglect or delay to be equally devided among them share and share alike. Now God bless you all and give you grace to do his will know for certain that his blessing only can make you Rich. I hope you will keep the worship of God in your families for happiness is only to be Obtained by a truly Religious life and is the only way to an immortal Crown the Blessed Jesus came down from Heaven to make us like himself Holy, be not ashamed of his source but let others profit by your good Examples. Amen. And Lastly I do hereby Constitute and Appoint my Sons in Law Thomas Tillard and John Brown to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament Revoking and annulling all former Wills by me heretofore made. Ratifying and Confirming this and none other to be my last Will and Testament.
