All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdue192@aol.com May 7, 2009, 6:19 pm Source: Orphans Court Prince George Co., Md Written: June 5, 1758 Recorded: January 1, 1759 In the name of God Amen the fifth day of June one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight that I Jeremiah Perdue of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Planter being very weak in body and being very sick but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of the body and knowing that it is apppointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament that is to say first and principally I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christianlike and decent manner at the discretion of my executor hereafter named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and touching such worldly estate where with it has pleased God to bless me in this Life I give devise and dispose of the same in the like manner & form inprimis. I give and bequeath unto Sary my beloved wife for and during her natural life fifty acres of land it being part of a track or parcel called Casteel with all and singular of my personal estate after all my just debts are paid by her to be possessed after lawful debts are paid and do appoint her my Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other Testament, Wills and Executors by me in any way before made Will or bequeathed confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Tesament in Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Wheat Senr On the back of this Will was endosed to Wit Maryland Sst Pr Geos County on the first day of Janry An Dom 1759 Came Francis Wheat, Wm Wheat Sr & John Wheat Junior all three subscribing evidence of the within Last Will and Testament of Jereh Perdue late of Pr Georges County decd & made oath on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God that they did see the Testator Sign & Seal and Publish the within Instrument of writing as his last Will and Testament and at the time of his so doing he was of Perfect Memory & of a Sound and disposing mind and that at his request and in his presence they and each of them did Suscribe the same as Witnesses Sworn before G. Scott D. Comry of P. G.
