Will of Samuel Chaires, 1799, WHN:3:303, Queen Anne's County, MD

19 Nov 1799
 
To beloved wife - provided she never marries, but if she marries it falls
to my dear and beloved son John Chaires - all my personal property to
wit: my Negro man Will, Negro woman Sarah, Negro woman Ginny and
her children, Negro woman Arraminta and her children, all my stock of
horses cattle sheep and hogs, my household and kitchen furniture and
my farming utensils - but with a reference that my son shall have the
use of it.
 
To dau. - Mary Chaires - my home plantation called "Hackett's
Purchase", 130 1/4 a. - if she dies without issue to son John Chaires,
but if he shall die without lawful begotten heirs, to my wife Margaret
Chaires. 
If she dies - to my wife's brother and sister John and Harriet Chaires,
equally.
 
To son John Chaires - tract lying in Montgomery Co. in the state of
North Carolina called "Salsbury Plaine", 200 a. and all my part of a tract
of land lying in the county and state afsd. which was taken up by Luke
Robinson and John Skinner, containing 200 a. of land - but if he dies
without lawful begotten heirs of his body to dau. Chaires.  If she dies -
to my wife's brother and sister John and Harriet Chaires, to be equally
divided.
