Vernon area. Mike ventured down Harrison Landing Road towards the Wicomico River and saw, off in the field to his left, two old leaning tombstones. They were in a small grove of mature tress that is now being used as a cow pasture. To get to the stones, it is necessary to walk back into the field about 200 feet. These stones sit only about 100 feet from the river. On the 1876 maps, they are on the property of Mrs. Mary E. Overton in Hungary Neck District (District 5) of Somerset Co. next to the residence of Wm. A.D. Bounds. The property is just west of and on the opposite side of the river from Whitehaven. Thanks, once again, Mike, for providing this information! In memory of James HARRIS Who departed this life November 6, 1842 Aged 77 years Sarepta A. OVERTON Daughter of Lester D. and Mary E.
