The submitter has given permission to The USGenWeb Project to store the file permanently for free access. ******************************************************************************************** Somerset County Will Frances North Murray of Somerset County Written 24 July 1782 I, Frances Murray of Somerset County and State of Maryland considering the uncertainty of life have thought fit to make this my last Will and Testamemt, and to dispose of such worldly goods or estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in manner following Vizt: First I give and bequeath unto my son-in-law William McBryde one hundred pounds current money aforesaid and negro man named Jacob, one negro girl named Matilda, one marble table, all my silver table and tea spoons, a large chest and the curtains commonly used with bed I sleep in to him his heirs and assigns forever. 2nd. I give and bequeath unto my son-in-law William Stone one hundred pounds current money aforesaid, one negro man named Abraham, one negro man named George, 1 round table and one of my best blue and white counterpanes to him his heirs and assigns forever. 3rd. I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Leah Murray McBryde one negro boy named Bobb to her her heirs and assigns for ever. 4th. I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Frances McBryde one negro girl named Sinni and one silver porigner to her her heirs and assigns for ever. 5th. I give and bequeath unto my grandson John Murray Stone one silver ladle or soup spoon to him his heirs and assigns for ever. 6th. I give and bequeath unto my three grandchildren William Murray Stone, Mary Stone and Elizabeth Stone one hundred pounds current money aforesaid to them their heirs and assigns aforesaid. 7th. I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Frances Handy one negro woman named Abigail, two womans cloaks, and her choice of my gowns to her her heirs and assigns for ever. 8th. I give and bequeath unto Bridget Nevin one pompadore(?) stamped gown. 9th. It is my will that out of the remaining part of my estate as much may be reserved and applied by my executor for the express purpose of keeping my brother John North from suffering for want of cloaths. 10th. I give and bequeath unto Betty McBryde one white cotton counterpane. 11th. I give and bequeath unto my grandson Hugh Mc Bryde one cow called Kiny, cow to him his heirs and assigns. And it is my will and desire that all the remaining part of my estate not before disposed of be equally divided between my daughter Betty Stone and Sarah McBryde and their representatives including Frances Handy one of the representatives of Betty Stone. And it is my desire that the negro boy named Littleton be in Sarah McBryde's part. Ad I do hereby constitute and appoint William McBryde my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills by me heretofore made as witness my hand and seal this twenty second day of July 1782.
