I John Gunby being in perfect memory doth ordain this my Last Will & Testament. Item - I give & bequeath to James Gunby my tract of land called Kirks Purchase to him and his heirs & also Gunby's Venture, & also the Meadow to him and his heirs. Item - I give to my loving wife Sarah Gunby one third of all my personal estate. I give to my son Kirk Gunby one shilling Sterling. I give to my daughter Sarah Jones one shilling Sterling. I give to my daughter Priscilla Gunby one shilling Sterling. I give to my daughter Grasiannah Lane one shilling Sterling. I give to my daughter Ardrey Adams one shilling Sterling. I give Susannah Taylor one shilling Sterling. Item - I give to my grandson James Gunby & my daughter Sarah Gunby & my daughter Rachall Gunby all the remainder of my estate. I leave my wife Executrix & James Gunby Executor of this my last will and Testament in witness my hand & seal this 24th day of October 1744. In the presents of John Gunby Charles West, John Horsey, Thomas Bell, Michael Roach August 29th 1745 / came John Horsey, Thomas Bell and Michael Roach three subscribing evidences this this will and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they saw the Testator John Gunby sign and seal and heard him publish, pronounce, and declare this Instrument of writing as his last will and testament and that at the time of his doing so he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that the said John Horsey, Thomas Bell, and Michael Roach subscribed their names as evidence to this will in their presence and at the request of the testator John Gunby Sworn to before Nehemiah King, Deputy Commis of Somerset County Recorded in Liber DD N3 folio204 - Wm Rogers, Regr.
