All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Becky Miller milchoice@yahoo.com January 19, 2009, 8:20 pm Source: Somerset Wills Eb9 Microfilm Written: January 18, 1716 Recorded: March 19, 1716 In the name of God Amen I of the County of Somerset and in ye province of Maryland being sicke and weake of Body but of Sound & parfect memory thancks be to God I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first I give and bequeath my Soul to God that gavett me and my Body to ye Earth from whence it came and to have a desent & Christian like Buriall at ye discration of my Executrix hearafter named, and as for my temparell Estate such as God Almighty havth pleased to bestow upon me I give and bequeath as followeth—Impromis Item I do give and bequeath to my three Sons Thomas, Lazarus and Danell all my land lying hear being severall pattens containg nine hundred and odd acres lying upon ye Soueth side of Manoken Rivar—I give to my son Thomas three hundred acres & od being part of ye aforesd nine hundred acres lying on a Creek called Wolf Trap Creek running up to the haed of ye said Creek along a Dich to the woods from thence running along, along afored fence to a marked Raed Oake being mareked thre ways standing by a fence side and at ye edgh of a rigge, deviding from the Land from ye Land I doe give to my son Lazarus, and from ye said Tree with a right line to ye heaed of a Dich & so a long ye said dich into a gutt coming out of a Creek called Canes Creek—I give to my son Thomas all this Land lying between the aforsaid bounds and Rivar to him and his heirs forever and Danell to have the prevelege of keeping of thirty head of cattle in his marsh hee & his heirs. I do give to my son Lazarus three hundred acres of land bound as followeth, beginning at the westernmost side of the aforesaid woolf trap Creek Dich & fence to ye aforesaid marked raed oke & from thence with a line drane South South East to ye out sid of my land. I doe give to him all my Land lying on the Westermost side of ye said bounds and line to him and his heirs forever. I give to my son Danell all ye other part of ye abovesaid nine hundred acres being now the Plantation whear I now live bounding upon thear lines to him his heirs for aver, and if in case my son Lazarus or my son Danell should die without issue or or macking of a will, then the survisar of them to shall enjoy itt boeth tracts of land nathar of them three Thomas Lazarus and Danell to sell or make away to any parson but each other of thear land I give to my son Alechsander and to my son William one tract of land called Whitefield containing Seven hundred acres to them and thear heirs for aver and to be equall divided between them and if in case ather of them two should die without eshue or macking of a will then the survisar of them two shall enjoyett the whole—I give to my Loving wife my now dwelling plantation during her widarhood and one nagar man called Coffee and one nagar woman called Shue and two feather baeds and furniture and one Shallvar Thanckard and one Copar Cittle and one chest of Drawess & three Silver spones. I give to my Sonn Thomas one Nagar boye called Will and a winnull to one whipsaw and one Sillvar spone and to have no more of my Estate—I give to my son Lazarus one nager boy called Joe & one Father bed and furniture and one pott and one cheast & one Gun— I give to my sonn Aachsander one Nager garell called Murear & one feather baed & furniture and one pott and pan and one copar Cittle & one shest I give to my sonn Danell one Nager Boy called Jacob my wife to have half ye labour of ye said Jacob duearing hur widowhood and hee to have one fatherbead and one long gun & one pott and pan. I give to my Sonn William one Nagar boy called Abraham and one father Bed & furniture & one pott & pan & one gun. I give to my Dafter Mary one Nagar man called Mingor. I give to my Dafter Sarah one nager garell called Kate.
