Within three months of the time they had forged to celebrate their golden wedding, Thomas O'Brien and his wife, Mrs. Catherine O'Brien, living at 11 D street southeast, were both claimed by death, dying within a week of each other. The couple, aged eighty-five and seventy-three, respectively, had been residents of the city for the past fifty years. Mr. O'Brien died yesterday of paralysis and grief, caused by the death of his wife, a week ago as the result of shock and injuries which she sustained by a slight fall last Thanksgiving day. The wife was buried in Mount Olivet cemetery last Tuesday, following services in St. Peter's Church, conducted by Rev. H. H. Curley. Funeral services for Mr. O'Brien will be held Wednesday in St. Peter's Church, when Rev. Father Curley will celebrate high requiem mass. Interment will be beside his wife in the family plot. Both Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien were born in Ireland, but came to this country early in life. They settled in Washington and Mr. O'Brien became an employe of the navy yard, where he had charge of one of the big circular saws for twenty-five years. Some years since he resigned and went into the contracting business. For nearly two years he had been a sufferer from paralytic trouble. The aged couple are survived by four children, Mrs. C. M. Boswell, J. T. O'Brien, Mrs. Arthur Breuninger and Mrs. R. T. Ragan, and by eleven grandchildren.
