First I give and bequeath to my wife Henrietta Bean my two best beds with bedsteads & bedding complete to be selected by herself all the provisions on hand at the time of my decease all the kitchen furniture crockery ware & choice spoons knifes & forks the carputs (sic) in my two best rooms down stairs one bureau one table one stove six chairs & a looking glass all to be selected out of my effects by herself. Also her spinning wheel a pair of Brass hand Irons shovel & tongs an axe her trunk my box and also my bible and prayer book - Item. I give to my sons Barton & Hugh all my wearing apparrell (sic) to be divided between them. Item. I hereby order & direct all the rest and residue of my estate real as well as personal to be sold by my executor hereinafter named at such time & on such terms as he may deem expedient, hereby authorizing & empowering him to convey the same by deed or deeds or in any manner I could do to the purchaser or purchasers. Item. It is my will that out of the proceeds of sale of my real & personal estate so directed to be sold my first debts and expences (sic) shall be paid and that my executor shall securely put out at interest one third of the residue & shall punctually every year pay the interest thereon accruing to my said wife for her maintenance as long as she lives & after her death the said third to be distributed in the same manner as the remaining two thirds of the proceeds of my estate which I now order and direct to be divided into as many shares as I have have (sic) grandchildren alive at the time of my death one share whereof I give and bequeath to George W. Bean son of Charles Bean also one share to each of the children of my daughter Peggy Tarlton, also one share to each of the children of my daughter Nancy Gregory and bequeath to my son Hugh Bean as many shares as he shall have Children at the time of my death & also to my son Barton as many shares as he shall have children alive at the time of my death. Lastly I do hereby constitute & appoint my said son Barton Bean sole Executor of this my last will & testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand & seal this eighth day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two. Signed sealed published and declared by George Bean the above named Testator as and for his last Will & testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness hereunto. To Wit: On this 6th day of October 1835 came David Wilson and made oath to that this is the true and whole will of George Bean late of said County Deceased that has come to his hands and possession and that he doth not know or hath heard of any other. And at the same time came Frederick Stover and Philip Householder and severally made oath to that they did see the testator herein named sign and seal this will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding that they subscribed their names to this will in the presence and at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other and that they saw George Bender the other subscribing witness do the same.
